Welcome to the first official trailer from the upcoming sonically enhanced visual tale, Fantasy in Terms of Liberation. . . . A sonic project informed by nature, movement and sound, Fantasy in Terms of Liberation is equal parts imagery and audio. The piece features an original score to accompany the striking visuals. Created over spare weekends over the course of several months, filming was followed by recording sessions tailored and scored to the footage. At times moody, orchestral and stripped bare to just vocals and simple percussion, together Baptiste and producer Neill Von Tally crafted a varied soundtrack to match the tones, settings and themes of the short film. Fantasy in terms of liberation is set to premier at the end of June. A collaborative piece lead by artist and MFA student MAI IDE. This film depicts the struggle of participating in the textile world. I was honored to be included in such a personal project with Mai. It was my intention to amplify her experience and story through the use of western cinematic principles. This adds to the conflict felt while observing the piece because once again we are asked to view foreign labor and culture through a westernized lens. We also expect the artists in our culture to adapt to our dialogue even if they have a more worldly perspective. Thank you so much for sharing in the experience.
